Made in Dublin in circa 1780 by Michael Walsh, these Antique, George III, Sterling Silver Candlesticks are substantial on large gadroon and scroll bases with corinthian columns. The candlesticks are 13 inches (33cm) tall and the bases are 6.5 inches (16.5cm) square. In common with most candlesticks of this period they are loaded. The hallmarks are very clear but, like most silver from Dublin in this period, there is no date letter.

The candlesticks have very clear hallmarks and an incuse duty mark only struck in this year. Each candlestick is 11 inches (28cm) high and has a base which is 5.75 inches 14.5cm) in diameter. In common with most candlesticks of this style and period they are weighted for stability on the table and the sconces remove to make cleaning them easier.
