Hallmarked In 1739
Hallmarked in London in 1739 by John White, this exquisite pair of George II, Antique Sterling Silver Candlesticks, are cast and are each engraved with an original crest. Each candlestick measures 8.5"(21cm) tall, by 4.75"(12cm) wide and deep, and the pair together weigh a substantial 42.9 troy ounces. John White is described in Grimwade as "a mysterious figure, as his work, somewhat rare, is of high quality and Huguenot character, without there being any apparent connection in his training or parentage with the immigré school."
