Hallmarked In 1886
Hallmarked in Sheffield in 1886 by James Kebberling Bembridge, this attractive pair of Victorian, Antique Sterling Silver Candlesticks, feature bead borders, fluted decoration, acanthus detailing, and removable nozzles. Each candlestick measures 4.5"(11.5cm) tall, by 3.5"(9cm) in diameter, and they have been filled for balance.

Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1891 by Heath & Middleton, this enchanting, Victorian, Antique Sterling Silver Chamberstick is a superb example of the naturalistic bark effect popularised by this firm, shaped as a styled leaf, and carrying a registered design number. The removable snuffer covers a match holder and strike, and the nozzle is removable. The chamberstick measures 4"(10cm) tall, by 7"(17.5cm) from handle to side, and weighs 11.4 troy ounces.

The sprung loaded mechanism pushes the candle up as it burns to keep the wick at the same point in the centre of the metal reflector. The lamp measures 15"(39cm) tall by 5.25”(13.5cm) in diameter.
