Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1891 by Heath & Middleton, this enchanting, Victorian, Antique Sterling Silver Chamberstick is a superb example of the naturalistic bark effect popularised by this firm, shaped as a styled leaf, and carrying a registered design number. The removable snuffer covers a match holder and strike, and the sconce is removable. The chamberstick measures 4"(10cm) tall, by 7"(17.5cm) from handle to side, and weighs 11.4 troy ounces.

Hallmarked In 1899

Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1899 by Heath & Middleton, this fantastic, Aesthetic Movement, Victorian, Antique Sterling Silver Claret jug, features stunning chartreuse glass with fine ribbing to the neck and stopper, a clear shaped glass handle and a simple silver spout. The claret jug measures 10"(26cm) tall, by 6"(15cm) in diameter. The shaping of this claret jug is very similar to vases designed and signed by Dr. Christopher Dresser for James Couper & Sons c.1890, and the shape and detailing of the handle is seen in ceramic pieces made by Linthorpe.

Hallmarked in London in 1902 by Heath & Middleton, this stylish, Aesthetic Movement, Edwardian, Antique Sterling Silver "Hot Water Can", is an iconic design by Dr Christopher Dresser, plain in style, geometric in form and featuring wicker handles. The watering can measures 6.5"(17cm) tall, by 8"(20cm) from handle to spout and weighs 11.6 troy ounces. A similar Sterling Silver example (with wicker missing) can be found in the Bröhan Museum in Berlin in the "Metalwork by Christopher Dresser" collection.
