Hallmarked in London in 1905 by Hawksworth Eyres & Co, this heavy, Edwardian, Antique Sterling Silver Tray, features flat chased floral and scroll decoration to the body with a shaped shell and gadroon border, and an engraved crest and motto to the centre. The tray measures 29"(74cm) from handle to handle, by 20"(51cm) deep, and weighs 136 troy ounces. The crest and motto is that of the North family, and most likely that of Major Sir Harry North, who was Knighted the same year that the tray was made. The motto translates as 'By Courage & Faith'.

The basket is formed as an open shell, with a shaped gadroon border, pierced decoration to the body, standing on three dolphin feet, and with a handle formed as a mermaid. The basket measures 10.5"(27cm) tall, by 13"(33cm) wide, by 9.75"(25cm) deep and weighs an impressive 70 troy ounces.
