Made circa 1890, this truly spectacular pair of German, Antique 800 Standard Silver, Gothic Revival Altar Candlesticks, incorporate many design elements from gothic architecture including spires, cathedral window frames and gargoyle detailing. The wide tops have a spike to hold a large church candle. These magnificent candlesticks were originally retailed by the ecclesiastical specialist shop Jansson & Co. of Tilburg in the Netherlands. Each one measures 29"(74cm) tall, with diameter of 10"(25.5cm). The total weight of the pair is an impressive 242 troy ounces.
