Made Circa 1890

Made circa 1890 by Martin, Hall & Co., this very unusual, Victorian, Antique Glass and Silver Plated Biscuit Box, has a curved hobnail cut glass body and a patented mechanism which pulls up the lids by a chain. The biscuit box measures 10.5"(26.5cm) tall, by 11"(28cm) wide, by 4.75" (12cm) deep.

Hallmarked in Sheffield in 1896 by James Dixon & Sons, this very rare, Victorian, Antique Sterling Silver Folding Biscuit Box, is in the naturalistic style with shell designed sides, and push button opening. This biscuit box measures 11"(28cm) tall, by 9.5"(24cm) wide and weighs a substantial 69.9 troy ounces. This is the first time we have seen a Sterling Silver folding biscuit box in the push button design, a true rarity.
