The coat of arms is that of John Frederick Sackville, 3rd Duke of Dorset, Lord Lieutenant of Kent and the British Ambassador to France during the lead up to the French Revolution.

The trophy measures 12.75"(32.5cm) tall, by 19"(48cm) from handle to handle, by 10.25"(26cm) deep, and the plinth measures 5"(12.5cm) tall, by 11"(28cm) in diameter. The trophy on its own weighs an impressive 92.7 troy ounces.
