Hallmarked in London in 1753 by John Cafe, this handsome, George II, Antique Sterling Silver Taperstick, is cast and of traditional form, with a lobed base. The taperstick measures 4.5"(11.5cm) tall, by 2.75"(7cm) wide and deep, and weighs 3.5 troy ounces.

Made Circa 1830

Made circa 1830 by Matthew Boulton, this striking pair of Antique Old Sheffield Plate Candelabra, are decorative in design and in the Regency taste. The candelabra are in original condition, and the copper base metal can be seen in places which we have tried to show in the photographs. Each candelabrum measures 20.5"(52cm) tall, by 17"(43cm) wide, by 6"(15cm) deep.

Hallmarked in London in 1723 by Francis Turner, this exquisite pair of George I, Antique Sterling Silver Tapersticks, are cast and of hexagonal form, featuring an engraved crest to each base. Each taperstick measures 4.5"(11.5cm) tall, by 3.25"(8cm) wide and deep, and together they weigh 7.9 troy ounces. The crests is likely that of the Burke (or Bourke) family.

Hallmarked in London in 1767 and 1768 by John Cafe, this exceptional set of four George III, Antique Sterling Silver Candlesticks, are cast, and feature gadroon borders, swirling inverted fluting at the base of the stems and an engraved crest on each. Each candlestick measures 10.5"(26.5cm) tall, by 4.5"(11.5cm) wide and deep, with a total weight of 78 troy ounces.

Hallmarked In 1739

Hallmarked in London in 1739 by John White, this exquisite pair of George II, Antique Sterling Silver Candlesticks, are cast and are each engraved with an original crest. Each candlestick measures 8.5"(21cm) tall, by 4.75"(12cm) wide and deep, and the pair together weigh a substantial 42.9 troy ounces. John White is described in Grimwade as "a mysterious figure, as his work, somewhat rare, is of high quality and Huguenot character, without there being any apparent connection in his training or parentage with the immigré school."

b1164: Sterling Silver Candelabra And Candlestick Suite

Hallmarked In 1795

Hallmarked in Sheffield in 1795 by John Green & Co., this striking, George III, Antique Sterling Silver Candelabra and Candlestick Suite, comprises a pair of candelabra and a pair of candlesticks, plain in style, and featuring reed borders, engraved crests, and removable lion flames to the candelabra. Each candelabrum measures 16.75"(42.5cm) tall, by 17"(43cm) in spread, and each candlestick measures 11.25"(28.5cm) tall, by 5.5"(14cm) in diameter. Both the candelabra and candlesticks are filled for balance. The motto reads "Deus Providebit" - "God Provides" and the crest is likely that of the Marshall family.
