Hallmarked in London in 1935 by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co., this handsome, Sterling Silver Water Jug, is from the Art Deco period, and is plain in style, with a scroll handle and reed detailing. The water jug measures 6"(15cm) tall, by 7"(18cm) from handle to spout and weighs 19.2 troy ounces.

L1215: Sterling Silver Arts & Crafts Milk Jug

Hallmarked In 1911

Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1911 by Duchess Millicent Sutherland, and made by the Duchess of Sutherlands Cripples Guild, this handsome, and very rare, Antique Sterling Silver Milk Jug is a fine example of Arts & Crafts style, with a scroll handle and a hand hammered body. The water jug measures 3.5"(9cm) tall, by 8"(20cm) from handle to spout, by 4.5"(11cm) deep and weighs 12.8 troy ounces. The milk jug is referenced in the 1910 D.S.C.G. exhibition catalogue as 'Design 423 - Milk Jug Temp George III' and notated as 'From a model lent by Basil Oxenden Esq.'

Hallmarked in Chester in 1911 by Nathan & Hayes, this handsome, Antique Sterling Silver & Tigerware Jug, is a faithful reproduction of the original, which was popular in England during the second half of the 16th Century. The Tigerware (also spelt Tygerware) pottery body was first crafted in Germany, bring imported into England in the 1540's and imitated in Delftware (such as the Malling Jug). The jug measures 10.5"(26.5cm) tall, by 5.5"(14cm) from handle to side, by 4.75"(12cm) deep.
