Hallmarked in London in 1907 by Charles Stuart Harris this ornate Edwardian antique sterling silver tray is of a navette form with a gadroon border, a pierced gallery with foliate scrolls and a pair of open handles. The surface is engraved with a central armorial crest and the motto "Res Non Verba." It measures 1.75"(4.5cm) tall, by 16.5"(42cm) from handle to handle and 11.5"(29cm) deep, and weighs 36.06 troy ounces.
The tray is engraved with the armorial crest of the Wilson family of Wellsbourne. The shield is divided vertically, displaying three lions' gambs (paws). The crest above the shield is a lion's head couped, gouttés de sang (with drops of blood), and the motto below is "Res Non Verba," which is Latin for "Deeds, not words."
