L1212: Sterling Silver Tazza

Hallmarked In 1844

Hallmarked in London, 1844 by J. C. Edington, this fabulous Victorian Antique, Sterling Silver Tazza stands on a stepped pedestal base and has a reed rimmed plate. There is a wonderfully detailed crest with a lion, unicorn and crown, bearing the inscription "Nec Devius Unquam " meaning "Never Varying", indicating the First Baron Wallace, Politician. The tazza stands 5"(12.5cm) high, 9.5"(24cm) in diameter and weighs 26 troy ounces.

b3525: Sterling Silver Pair Of Dessert Stands

Hallmarked In 1873

Hallmarked in Birmingham, 1873 by Elkington & Co., this superb Pair of Victorian Antique, Sterling Silver Dessert Stands are in the Egyptian revival style. Three gilt figures of Bast (the winged cat) appear to hold up the central urn shaped column, which stands on three clawed feet. The bowls are etched, frosted glass. Each one stands 17"(43cm) high., with a 7"17.5cm) diameter base and a 10"(25.5cm) diameter bowl. Each one weighs 73 troy ounces, a combined weight of 146 troy ounces.



d6811: Sterling Silver Suite Of Three Comports

Hallmarked In 1874

Hallmarked in London in 1874 by Alexander Macrae, this fantastic Antique Victorian, Sterling Silver Suite of three Comports feature an ornate base with cherubs supporting the central bowls. The larger comport measures 53cm (21 inches) in height and 32cm (12.5 inches) in diameter. The two smaller comports measure 38cm (15 inches) in height and 27cm (10.5 inches) in diameter. The suite weighs 165 troy ozs excluding the glass.
