Hallmarked In 1900
Bearing import marks for Chester, 1900 by Berthold Muller, this novel Antique, Sterling Silver Nef is actually a drinks decanter. The bowspirit is a spout and the back section is hinged for easy access. There are men on deck with cannons and even a sailor climbing the mast rope. The chased body has an underwater scene featuring Neptune. The interior of the ship has been gilded and the wheels propel the ship forward or backwards. The Nef measures 13"(33cm) port to starboard, with a height of 16"(41cm), a width of 4.5"(11.5cm) and a weight of 45.4 troy ounces.
