Hallmarked in London in 1899 by Gilbert Marks this remarkable Victorian sterling silver pair of tazzas is a superb example of the Arts and Crafts movement. Each tazza, with its shallow circular bowl, rises from a spreading pedestal foot and is finished with a distinct planished surface. One tazza features repoussé decoration of acorns and oak leaves, while the other is adorned with thistles. Both undersides are hand-engraved with the signature of Gilbert Marks and the date 1899. Each tazza measures 4"(10.5cm) tall, by 5.5"(14cm) in diameter, and together they weigh 14.13 troy ounces.
