L4892: Sterling Silver Arts & Crafts Enamelled Box

Hallmarked In 1903

Hallmarked in London in 1903 by Guild of Handicrafts, this very attractive, Antique Sterling Silver Box, features an enamelled plaque on the lid which is signed to the front by the sought after enameler Charles Fleetwood Varley. The reverse of the plaque is annotated by Varley, suggesting the enamel is a view of the Black Mountains as seen from Conception Bay in Newfoundland, Canada. The box measures 2.25"(6cm) tall, by 6.25"(16cm) wide, by 3.5"(9cm) deep, and weighs 12.8 troy ounces.
