Made Circa 1875

This fantastic pair of Victorian, Antique Sterling Silver Candelabra were made in London in 1867 and 1890 by Hunt & Roskell and Benson & Webb respectively. (Benson & Webb purchased Hunt & Roskell in 1889). They feature grape and vine decoration to the stems and branches, and each base has a a putti holding a bunch of grapes with vine leaves in their hair. These traditional symbols of Dionysus, the God of wine, clearly celebrating an abundant grape harvest, make these wonderful, rococo candelabra the perfect table decoration for a passionate wine drinker.
