Carrying import marks for London in 1914 by Arthur Graf, this unusual pair of George V, antique, sterling silver dishes are wonderfully decorative and highly imaginative in design. Each dish is formed as a large, floral-engraved shell held aloft by a cast unicorn supporting a shield, standing atop a decorated textured base. The rim of each bowl is surmounted by a finely cast winged dragon holding a lion’s mask, completing the fantastical motif.
The pair together weigh 25.15 troy ounces, and each dish measures 8.75"(22cm) tall, by 5.25"(13.5cm) wide and by 4"(10cm) deep.
