Hallmarked in Glasgow in 1910 by Aird & Thomson, this handsome, George V period, Antique Sterling Silver Presentation Casket, was presented to Robert Harvey Esq. on his retirement from the post of H.M. Inspector of Schools, 23rd December 1910. The casket is richly decorated with chased thistle detailing, and famous Scottish views including that of Dumbarton Rock, Glasgow University and Clyde shipyard. The freedom casket measures 8"(20cm) tall, by 12"(30cm) wide, by 8"(20cm) deep, and weighs 50 troy ounces.
