Made Circa 1830
Made circa 1830 by Matthew Boulton, this wonderful George III Antique, Old Sheffield Plate Meat Dish & Cover exemplifies fine craftsmanship, standing on lion paw feet and featuring shell and gadroon borders, acanthus scroll handles, fluting to the dome and original crests. The dish measures 25"(63cm) long and 17”(43cm) deep.The dome is 18"(46cm) long and 13.5"(34cm) deep. The dish, with cover on, stands 15”(38cm) tall.

Hallmarked In 1807
Hallmarked in London, 1807 by Paul Storr, this handsome, George III, Antique, Sterling Silver Meat dish cover, features a shaped gadroon border and removable gadroon detailed handle. The meat dish cover carries the coat of arms of the Buxton family, and was probably part of the estate of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, a member of Parliament and 1st Baronet. The meat dish cover measures 10 inches (25.5cm) tall, by 19.25 inches (49cm) wide, by 12.25 inches (31cm) deep, and weighs 95 troy ounces (2.96kg).
