L1478: Sterling Silver Dish

Made Circa 1950

Made circa 1950 in Denmark by Georg Jensen, this lovely Sterling Silver Dish has a plain, shallow bowl with two applied shell and scroll handles, and stands on a pedestal base. The dish measures 6.25"(16cm) handle to handle, by 4.75"(12cm) deep, by 1"(2.5cm) tall, and weighs 4.1 troy ounces.

Hallmarked in Sheffield in 1942 by Mappin & Webb, this Sterling Silver Pierced Dish has a delicate cast grape and vine border and sits on three cast feet. This hansomely pierced dish is 4.5 inches (11.5cm) tall, has a diameter of 10 inches (25.5cm) and weighs 16.5 troy oz.

Hallmarked in London in 1945 by R. E. Stone, this charming, Sterling Silver Armada Dish has been beautifully engraved with a central image of Peter Pan and Wendy, and various characters from the Peter Pan story around the rim, presumably inspired by the original drawings by F. D. Bedford. The armada dish measures 6.75"(17cm) in diameter, by 1"(2.5cm) tall and weighs 6.8 troy ounces.
