Hallmarked In 1916
Hallmarked in London in 1916 by Liberty & Co., this novelty set of six Sterling Silver Coffee Spoons feature enamelled terminals depicting a man in “Convalescent Blues” - a special uniform issued to First World War battle wounded soldiers when they arrived at hospital in England. The uniform consisted of a blue single-breasted jacket with a white lining - worn open at the neck, blue trousers, a white shirt and a red tie. To complete the outfit he wore his own khaki service cap with its regimental badge. Presented in their original box, they measure 5"(12.5cm) in length and weigh 2.14 troy ounces total.
