b8162: Sterling Silver Ink Stands

Hallmarked In 1823

Hallmarked in London in 1823 by Joseph Angell, this Antique, George IV, Sterling Silver Ink Stand is very hansome with shell and gadroon borders. The cut glass pots are all in perfect condition but it would seem that the small sconce in the central taperstick is unmarked and probably a replacement. The inkstand is 11.5 inches (29cm) wide, 8.5 inches (22cm) deep, 6.5 inches (16.5cm) tall and, without the glass pots, weighs 40 troy oz (1.25kg).
