b8445: Sterling Silver 'Hot Water Can'

Hallmarked In 1902

Hallmarked in London in 1902 by Heath & Middleton, this stylish, Aesthetic Movement, Edwardian, Antique Sterling Silver "Hot Water Can", is an iconic design by Dr Christopher Dresser, plain in style, geometric in form and featuring wicker handles. The watering can measures 6.5"(17cm) tall, by 8"(20cm) from handle to spout and weighs 11.6 troy ounces. A similar Sterling Silver example (with wicker missing) can be found in the Bröhan Museum in Berlin in the "Metalwork by Christopher Dresser" collection.
