Made Circa 1878
Made circa 1878 by George Betjamann & Sons, this fine Antique, Silver Plate Tantalus has a Betjemann's patent lock mechanism. The tantalus has beautiful detailing, with fine engraving throughout, twisted rope borders, multi-tonal gilding, silver plating and a fully lockable frame, with key. The three cut glass bottles are 3.25"(8cm) square and 9"(22.5cm) tall. The frame is13.5"(35cm) long, 6"(15cm) wide and 12"(30cm) to the top of the handle.

Hallmarked In 1925
Hallmarked in Sheffield, 1925 this wonderful Sterling Silver and wooden Tantalus holds three cut glass decanters and is secured at the front by its own key. The case features a vacant plaque at the front, perfect for engraving and measures 14.25 inches (36 inches) in length by 5.5 inches (14 cms) deep and 14 inches (35.5 cms) in height.
