j5440: Hallmarked in Sheffield, 1950 by George Hancock, this very handsome, sterling silver tea set, comprises of a coffee pot, teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug, all very plain in style, featuring reed borders around the foot and tops. The coffee pot measures 7.25 inches (18.5cm) tall, by 9 inches (23cm) from handle to spout, the teapot measures 5.25 inches (13.5cm) tall, by 10.5 inches (27cm) from handle to spout, the sugar bowl measures 3.25 inches (8cm) tall, by 6 inches (15.5cm) from handle to handle, and the cream jug measures 3.75 inches (9.5cm) tall, by 5 inches (13cm) from handle to lip. The set weighs 54 troy ounces.
